Wines

Traditional Sardinian wines are strong in character. Sardinia's wine making dates back to ancient times and has been influenced through the centuries by its occupiers such as the Phoenicians, Romans and Spaniards who imported their grapes to this enchanting Mediterranean Island.

Today, Sardinian wine holds its own as an important wine of Italy and although it is produced in small quantities, its quality is very high.

Among the white wines, the protagonist is Vermentino which features prominently on our wine list. Nuragus, named after the Nuraghe, the island's prehistoric stone towers, make popular white wines of moderate strength.

Among the red wines, the most representative of the island are made with the Cannonau and Monica grapes. Other grapes, such as Carignano and Bovale, are used to create some of the finest Sardinian wines such as Terre Brune and Turriga which combine power with unexpected elegance.
