Sardo Restaurant'Of all the regions in Italy,' as the first page of the menu puts it, 'Sardinia offers some of the greatest tasting and healthy dishes. Sardo achieves this by using only the freshest herbs and ingredients...'. This is quite a claim... and thank the good lord the restaurant lives up to it, because if it didn't, I would feel compelled, by personal cowardice, to pull a few punches. However, on this form, Sardo serves some of the best Italian food to be found in London, and at much more sensible prices than such celebrated rivals as Locanda Locatelli.
Matthew Norman, Sunday Telegraph Magazine

Sardo has focused on the Sardinian specialities it does so well. This simple change has turned into one of central London appealing Italian restaurants, with prices as tempting as the cooking.
Time Out 2002 Guide to Eating and Drinking in London

I feel like crying, I'm so happy. Here I am in a small and charming restaurant in London, eating magnificently flavoured food, being cared of by staff equally bewitching and knowledgeable, and drinking luscious wine from the same region of Italy as the chef and restaurateur. And I can even afford to eat here. Sardo is great. Sardo is beautiful. Sardo is the sort of place you could happily go back to once a week for the rest of your life.

A Sardinian restaurant of exceptional quality. Even the service is elevated: attentive, informed, hitting exactly the right note.

The panna cotta was absolutely stunning. You'd want to die with it in your mouth. Well you wouldn't actually, you'd want to be very much alive and taste it again and again. But it does have that swallow and go to heaven feeling.
Chrissy Iley, Theme Bar and Restaurant Style

To judge by Sardo's lunchtime trade, the magic of the light, bright interior, the sexy service...still prove irresistible.
Matthew Fort, The Guardian Weekend

From the outset, with pane crasau or carta di musica, the poppadom-like Sardinian bread which came with splendid olives, and cocktails made with local berry liquor, vermouth and lime, we enjoyed an excellent meal.

Sardo was buzzing with what seemed to be appreciative regulars and the atmosphere was so mellow we didn't want to leave.
Marina O'Loughlin, Metro

Sardo's owner travels to Sardinia to source speciality foods and often tries them out on regular customers initally. Last time we went, we had the most intriguing goat's cheese I've ever seen, as well as a gamey lamb "ham". Favourites include the Fregola (pasta bead) dishes with shellfish, and a starter of cured ham.
